Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure various surface properties of an object by means of a single measuring device, by a method wherein a lateral arm is supported at a longitudinal arm pivotably secured, and a measuring attachment and a balancer are detachably mounted at the opposite ends of the lateral arm. CONSTITUTION:An upper end of a longitudinal arm 5 is pivotably secured to a fixing support axis 3 of a retainer 2 at a center of an upper surface of a body 1. A ?-shaped fixture part 7 is located at the lower end of the longitudinal arm 5, and opposite ends of an axis 11 located at a coupling part 10 of a lateral arm 9 are pivotably attached to the fixture part 7 to form a central fulcrum 8. A measuring probe 20 is vertically movably mounted at a boss part 18 at the end of the lateral arm 9, and a balancer 31, a displacement converter or a load cell 27 are installed at the other end. A scratch needle or other attachements are set at the lower end of the measuring probe 20 to measure various surface properties, such as friction resistance, resistance against scratch and film-forming, resistance against peeling, by means of a single measuring device.
