Abstract

PURPOSE:To reliably forecast a failure, by detecting an acceleration of vibration during the rotation of a rolling bearing and detecting a rapid and approximately uniform increase in a lower limit value of a minute change in said speed. CONSTITUTION:A detector, mounted directly to or in the proximity of a rolling bearing, detects an acceleration of vibration, and a rapid and approximately uniform increase of a lower limit value as shown in a drawing is detected as a forecast of a failure in the rolling bearing. The utilization of a know simple electronic circuit of computer permits the easy realiztion of the extraction of a lower limit value of an acceleration of vibration for said forecasting, the decision of whether or not the fluctuation in the lower limit value is within the range of a rapid and approximately uniform increase previously set, and the indication of a failure forecast conducted on the basis of the result of said decision during a given period of time.
