Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable accurate measuring of effective stress of concrete by installing a load cell at the center of a case made of wire netting. CONSTITUTION:A body 1 and a cover 2 of a case are made of wire netting and inner face of the case is covered with water permeable material. The water permeable material is made of a thin film that allows movement of water but incapable of transmitting force. An anchor 41 is installed projecting towards the end face 11 of the case on both ends of a load cell 4 for load detection fixed at the center of thd case. Concrete of the same quality and same age with the specimen 5 is filled in the case 1 of this effective stress meter, covered up with the cover 2 and buried at a specified position according to the condition of placing of concrete, and internal stress of the concrete due to drying and contraction is measured. By this way, stress transmission in the direction of one axis of the object can be made smooth without influenced by disturbance of stress at the end part.
