Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately measure the mean velocity of water in a river water channel by holding a velocity sensor under water at constant rate with respect to depth of water regardless of the depth of water.
CONSTITUTION: A floating bar 2 is inserted between a bottom plate 9 and a float 8 with bearings 7 connected at the connecting points therebetween to be freely rotatable. There are mounted a velocity sensor 3 made by adhering a strain guige 6 to a proving ring 5 and a drift 1 at the bar 2 to thereby transmit the voltage change due to velocity to a centralized management chamber.
