Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove carbon dioxide and to save equipment costs by including grained coal in a circulating gas on the down stream of a circulating gas blower, and blowing this into a reduction furnace after heating in a recirculation line of a coal fluidized bed type direct reduction process.
CONSTITUTION: Iron ore A and slack B are charged into a reducing furnace 1, by which reduced iron C is obtained. The discharged gas from the furnace top is cleaned in a dust remover 3 and a scrubber 4 through a pipeline 2 and is boosted with a circulating gas blower 5. A grained coal blower 6 is provided on the down stream of this blower 5, and the grained powder D in a hopper 10 is introduced into a mixer 7 by a charging mechanism 11, and is mixed with the circulation gas. These are heated in a gas heater 8 and is blown into the furnace 1, whereby they are recirculated. By the blowing of the grained coal D in the circulation gas, carbon monoxide is modified in the gas heater 8 and carbon dioxide is removed, hence a carbon dioxide removing device is abolished or its capacity is decreased and the decrease in the rate of metallization at the reducing is prevented.
