Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled wire having excellent adhesive force, etc. at an elevated temperature, by coating a solvent soln. of a polyester imide resin on a conductor and baking it, said resin being produced from an arom. dicarboxylic acid ester, a diamine and an arom. tricarboxylic acid anhydride.
CONSTITUTION: 0.1W0.2mol of an arom. dicarboxylic acid such as terephthalic acid or a derivative thereof in 0.3W10mol of a polyhydric alcohol such as ethylene glycol is subjected to an esterification reaction or an ester interchange reaction. To the resulting polyhydric alcoholic soln. of an. arom. dicarboxylic acid ester are added 0.3W0.6mol of a diamine such as m-phenylenediamine and 0.5W 1.5mol of an arom. tricarboxylic acid anhydride. The mixture is subjected to a reaction with heating to produce a polyester imide resin. This resin is dissolved in a solvent to obtain a paint which is then coated on a conductor and baked to obtain the desired self-weldable insulated wire.
