Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent powder from clinging to the inside of a conveying pipe, by intermittently supplying pressurized air through a plurality of purge pipes connected to the conveying pipe, to apply irregular impulsive pressure of different intensity to the powder flowing in the conveying pipe.
CONSTITUTION: In equipment for conducting a chemical agent such as slaked lime from a silo 1 to a reaction unit 7 such as an exhaust gas processor, the chemical agent is mingled by a mixer 2 into pressurized air supplied from an air compressor 3 and the mixture is sent through an accelerator 4 and a conveying pipe 5. Purge pipes 8aW8c are attached to prescribed halfway portions of the pipe 5 to supply pressurized air from a pressurized air source 12 to the pipe 5 through valves 10a, 10b. The pressurized air from the source 12 is irregularly injected into the pipe 5 by the action of an M series signal generator for a prescribed time to apply an impact to the inside of the conveying pipe 5 to prevent the powder from clinging to the inside of the pipe.
