Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the power loss of a DC motor by commonly using the DC power source for a motor main circuit for a power source of a field circuit and comparing a field command with a reference triangular wave similar to the control of the motor main circuit, thereby controlling in ON or OFF. CONSTITUTION:A trigger circuit 9 compares a triangular wave V5 becoming a reference with a voltage V0 corresponding to the speed command and outputs a signal VT1 for conducting the transistors 31, 32 and a signal VT2 for conducting transistors 33, 34. Accordingly, the speed of the motor 5 is controlled in response to the average value of the voltages. A field control circuit 130 produces a trigger signal for conducting and interrupting a field current control transistor 110 on the basis of the magnitude relationship between a reference triangular wave VS and a field command voltage vf. In this manner, a speed control device for a DC motor having low power loss can be inexpensively obtained.
