Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a highly smooth and inexpensive lens barrel by manufacturing a female side barrel of a suitable resin by making use of the female side barrel made of metal or resin as a jig for molding of a male side barrel. CONSTITUTION:A female side barrel 6 made by turning a metallic material such as aluminum or molding a PPS resin or the like is fixed by means of the movable side cores 22, 23, stripper plate 17, and core 21 of stationary side of dies, and a resin such as polystyrene is injected into a cavity 25. When the molding is removed from the dies after cooling, the barrel 6 is formed into a shape wherein the cylindrical part enclosing the projecting part 6a of said barrel is secured. This is again mounted to the dies, and a PPS resin is injected and is cooled, thereafter the cylindrical part is dissolved away by a methyl acetate soln. Thereby, the highly smooth and inexpensive lens barrels 6, 7 are obtained.
