Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce an ink feeder in size by integrally forming a main tank and a sub tank wherein a receptacle for an ink cartridge is provided and a cylindrical filter is also vertically installed in the receptacle so that the cap of an ink cartridge can be pushed up the filter when it is inserted thereinto. CONSTITUTION:As a cartridge 1 is pushed into a receptacle 26 provided in a tank main body 24, a cap 5 in the cartridge 1 is pushed upward against spring 4 by a top plate 29 of a cylindrical filter 28 and a feeder mouth 3 is opened. The tank main body 24 is filled with ink 2 which flows out from the mouth and the outflow of ink 2 stops when the surface of ink reaches the edge of the feeder mouth 3 of the cartridge 1. Air bubbles and dust particles contained in the ink 2 are removed by the cylindrical filter 28 when ink 2 passes through it. Ink is then discharged through a gap 27 for air escape, pressurized by a pump 14, its pulsation is removed by an air chamber 16 and is spouted from a jet nozzle 20 passing through a solenoid valve 18.
