Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a centrifugal separator capable of positioning a rotor easily as well as accurately, in rotating a rotor engaged with plural sample containing container by a motor or a pulse motor, constituted so as to carry out detection of said rotary position and control of a rotary transfer.
CONSTITUTION: After a smaple is poured in a centrifugal container 19, a switch 17 is closed to rotate a centrifugal motor 12 and centrifugal operation is carried out at a predetermined rotary number for a definite time. Next, the switch 17 is opened and, at the same time, the motor 12 or a pulse motor 15 is operated as a solenoid brake to stop rotation of a rotor 13. During this time, a sensor mark 23 provided on a circumferential periphery of the rotor 13 is detected and the detected signal is fed back to a control circuit 25 to detect a revolving position of the rotor 13. Then, by the circuit 25, a motor 15 is driven and stopped while the container 19 set to the rotor 13 is revolved until it reaches a predetermined position. Further, a clutch 14 carries out connection and separation of the motor 12 and the motor 15 according to necessity.
