Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve an A-D conversion with high accuracy, even with less number of comparators, by performing upper rank A-D conversion with a basic voltage division circuit and providing a subvoltage division circuit having a voltage division pitch slightly different from the voltage division pitch. CONSTITUTION:A switch circuit 211 is operated so that an analog voltage Vx applied to an input terminal 113 is applied to one input terminal of comparators 111a-111n of a comparator 111, and the Vx is compared with voltage division voltages V1-Vn of a main voltage division circuit 112. As a result, the voltage is converted into a digital value and stored in a register 115. The result of conversion of the decoder 114 is applied to also a switch circuit 211, and an input terminal 113 is connected to an input terminal of the comparator detecting the most significant digit at conversion, and the voltage divided voltage of the subvoltage division circuit 212 is applied to the upper or lower side comparator, by taking the input terminal as the reference. Thus, high resolution can be obtained even with less number of comparators and the accuracy can be increased.
