Abstract

PURPOSE:To reproduce still pictures of good quality, by providing a rotary cylinder with a video head dedicated to special reproduction of still pictures, etc. CONSTITUTION:Video head 1 and 2 differing in azimuth angle from each other are used for recording and standard reproduction. Video heads 3 and 4, on the other hand, are used exclusively for still-picture reproduction. In recording, a recording/reproduction changeover switch 7 connects a recording circuit 9 to the heads 1 and 2. Therefore, recording currents flow through only the heads 1 and 2, and no recording current flows through the heads 3 and 4. In standard reproduction, the switch 7 is connected to the lower side, and a switch 8 is connected to the upper side, connecting a reproducing circuit 10 to the heads 1 and 2. In still picture reproduction, the switch is set at the lower side as well and the switch is set at the lower side, connecting the reproducing circuit 10 to the heads 3 and 4.
