Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient resolution without considerable restriction in band width by providing two heads and by recording a luminance and a color signal separately. CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal from an input terminal 1 is band-limited by an LPF4 and recorded on a recording medium by a video head 15. An I and a Q signal from input terminals 2 and 3, on the other hand, are restricted in the band width by LPFs 5 and 6 and synthesized by an adder 13 into a color signal, which is recorded on the recording medium by a video head 16. Then, the luminance and color signals reproduced by the heads 15 and 16 are demodulated to obtain the reproduced luminance signal, reproduced I signal and reproduced Q signal at the outputs of delay devices 20 and 28, and an LPF27. Those luminance, I and Q signals are led to an encoder part and then a reproduced composed color video signal appears at the output of an adder 34. This video signal is supplied to a time-axis correction device TBC to absorb the jitters generated from a luminance signal channel, so that the composite color video signal for the standard broadcast free from time axis variation appears at an output terminal 43.
