Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately find out a change of performances of an already installed pump by measuring a change of the pressure and level of liquid inside an accummulator and by comparing values thus detected with detected values in the past.
CONSTITUTION: An accumulator 5 is disposed in the intermediate of a pipe from a pump 2 to a valve 3. A balanced condition is reached when the level of liquid in the accumulator is at WL0, wherein the pump discharge rate Q0 and the jet rate from a desk header 4 are equal to each other. The liquid level position in this condition is represented as H0, the inside pressure as P0, and the inner sectional area as A. A valve 3 is closed quickly in this condition, and the liquid level after a unit time period is represented as WL1, the liquid level position as H1, and the inside pressure as P1. A change in the liquid level (H1-H0) is detected by a liquid level signal generator 6 while a change of the inside pressure (P1-P0) is detected by a pressure signal generator 7. The thus detected values are compared with the values which were obtained in the past in order to accurately find out performances of the pump.
