Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the polishing amount and secure high efficiency of work by revolving the carrier plate which shifts a work piece in relation to a grinding wheel during its reciprocating motion by means of an eccentric cam mechanism and allowing the workpiece to be shifted along the wave form locus.
CONSTITUTION: A workpiece W is held in the workpiece holding part formed on a carrier plate 7 and shifted between two rotary grind stones 1 and 2, so that the both edge surfaces of the workpiece may be polished. The carier plate 7 revolves around the shaft of revolution and makes reciprocating motion in relation to a fixed base plate 10 along a guide bar 12. In another word, an eccentric cam 26 is installed onto a driving shaft 20, and the fork part 27a of an engaging arm 27 is engaged with the eccentric cam 26. Therefore, when the driving shaft 20 is driven by a driving pulley 25, the carrier plate 27 makes a composite motion consisting of reciprocating motion and revolution materialized by the eccentric cam, and the workpiece W moves along the wave form locus, so as to increse the polishing amount.
