Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain always optimum timing of fuel injection by converting through a specific equation, actual measurements of the atmospheric temperature and pressure to the corrected values available for the standard condition when storing the data of ignition timing of an engine into memory.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel is supplied to an EFI engine 1 at the ignition timing Ti. Measuring instruments 2W4 measure the exhaust gas, output power, fuel consumption rate, etc. while the number of revolution Ne and throttle valve opening θth are held at the preset values and the timing Ti is varied. The timing Ti corresponding to the optimum value of the actual measurement is read and entered into a calculator 5 by operating a switch S. This calculator 5 operates according to the equation given in the illustration to convert the actual measurement into the standard value Tm. On the other hand, the number of revolution Ne and valve opening θth at this time are put into an addressing device 6 to assign the address in memory 7 where the converted value Tm shall be stored. In such a procedure, the converted value Tm is entered in the assigned address.
