Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the voltage withstandability by providing a conductor extending to the proximity of the other electrode on one of a high potential electrode or low potential electrode thereby suppressing the cold electron emission to the bead glass and the inner wall of a neck tube and preventing the generation of the in-tube discharge. CONSTITUTION:A conductor 12 made of stainless steel rod having one end secured through the welding and another end extending to the proximity of G2 electrode 7 and G3 electrode 6 across which the low voltage is applied is arranged on a bead support of an electrode 5 not shown having one end burried in a bead glass 10 for holding the electrode arranged in the bulb neck tube of CRT to predetermined position and the other end weded to the outer face of G4 electrode 5 to be applied with high potential. Here the conductor 12 is positioned at the space section between the glass 10 and the inner wall face of the neck tube along said glass 10. With such structure the discharge is produced between the tip section of the conductor 12 and G1 electrode 8, electrode 7 during the spot nocking to eliminate the minute projection on the electrodes 8, 7 thus to prevent the cold electron emission to the glass 10 and the inner wall of the neck tube.
