Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a latent heat accumulating material for use in storing a solar energy etc. having no production of excessive cooling and no separation of phases by a method wherein inorganic hydrated salt, seed crystal and water- insoluble water absorbing resin of high absorptivity are mixed with each other.
CONSTITUTION: An inorganic hydrated salt, an inorganic salt acting as a seed crystal having 1W20wt% basing on the inorganic hydrated salt, and a water- insoluble water absorbing resin of high absorptivity having 0.1W20wt% basing on the inorganic hydrated salt are mixed with each other. The inorganic hydrated salt is absorbed by said water absorbing resin at a temperature higher than its melting point, resulting in producing hydrogel and finally a uniform gel dispersion system at a temp. higher than the melting point. Seed crystal for use in preventing excessive cooling shows a gel condition, so that it may be uniformly dispersed. Thus, a local excessive cooling of the system and a separation of the phases may be retarded.
