PURPOSE:To suppress a temperature rise of a heat-sensitive head at a high temperature, and to obtain sufficient preheating effect at a low temperature by using the product of the output signals of a monostable multivibrator and signals synchronizing with the triger signals of the output signals as preheat pulses. CONSTITUTION:When the trigger signals B are supplied to the monostable multivibrator 4, signals C having predetermined pulse with are outputted from an output terminal OUT in response to temperature sensed by means of a thermistor 2. The product of the signals C and the signals A synchronizing with the trigger signals B is taken by an AND circuit 5, and the preheat pulses D are obtained. When the pulse width is selected to a prescribed value, the pulse width is changed up to zero from t1 for a period of a ''H'' level of the signals A. That is, a period of the ''H'' level of the signals C having wide pulse width shortens at first when the temperature rises, and the preheat pulses D reach zero when the pulse width becomes shorter than a t2 period. Since preheat pulse width can minutely be controlled together with the temperature, sufficient preheating effect is acquired at a low temperature, and a temperature rise can be suppressed by an arbitrarily value at a high temperature.
