Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the decrease in the toughness of deposited metal by performing welding by means of a nozzle of the double shielded construction wherein an inert gas is flowed from the inner side and gaseous hydrogen from the outer side by using a filler metal contg. less than a specific amt. of oxygen, in TIG welding of refined steel.
CONSTITUTION: Refined steel such as Ni-Cr-Mo type low alloy steel is subjected to TIG welding. At this time, a filler metal 7 of a content of oxygen kept to ≤50ppm is used and a nozzle 8 of double shielded construction is used. An inert gas 11 such as Ar or He is flowed as a shielding gas from the inner side of the nozzle 8, that is, a nozzle 9 for TIG welding, and gaseous hydrogen 12 for the removal of the oxide film formed by heating of the arc and for prevention of the inclusion of oxygen in the atmospheric air is flowed from the outer side, that is, a cup 10.
