Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a filling agent excellent in strength and separating ability with less shrinking and swelling, by a solvent by forming a microporous gel consisting of a monovinyl compound and a polyvinyl compound in an on the surface of pore of beads of a certain huge reticulate porous polymer. CONSTITUTION:Beads (specific surface area; 2-100m<2>/g, pore size; 100-1,000Angstrom , particle diameter; 5-50mu) of a huge reticulate porous polymer is obtained by condensing a monovinyo aromatic compound and (meta-)acrylonitrile under the presence of a polyvinyl aromatic compound. These beads are impregnated with a mixture solution of (A) a monovinyl compound (ex. styrene), (B) a polyvinyl compound (ex. divinyl benzene), (C) a precipitant (ex. benzene) and (D) a polymerization initiator (ex. lauroyl peroxide), and this is polymerized by suspension. A combined polymer (a porous polymer consisting of a monovinyl compound and a polyvinyl compound) of ca. 10-50wt% is adhered to the above mentioned huge reticular porous polymer, and a filling agent is obtained.
