Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce voltage notches by connecting a capacitor and an impedance element to the input side of the thyristor device, connecting a switching element to said impedance element, and controlling said switching element appropriately.
CONSTITUTION: The capacitor 8 and the impedance element 9 are connected to the input side of the thyristor converter 4. The switching element 10 is connected to the impedance element 9 in parallel. Said switching element 10 is closed during the commutation period of the thyristor in the thyristor converter 4, and opened before and after the commutation. Thus, the voltage notches are reduced, and the vibrations generated in the input voltage waveform are reduced.
