CONSTITUTION:Carrier of stationary phase or solid adsorbent is put into a bell jar of an ordinary plasma device and, on the other hand, the gaseous alkane such as methane, ethane, propane, butane, pentane, hexane, or the like is introduced, then, high-frequency discharge is carried out to form a plasma-atmosphere in said bell jar. Whereby, the carrier, or the like is subjected to plasma-treatment as it is. On the other hand, if the carrier impregnated with a liquid phase, or the like undergoes the plasma-treatment, the inert gas such as argon, helium, xenon, or the like is introduced to form the plasma atmosphere. In this way, if only the conditions for the plasma treatment are kept fixed, packing material is reformed with well reproducibility.
