Abstract

PURPOSE: To paint only an object to be painted safely by a method wherein a conductive object to be painted is electrically contacted with and mounted to a holder of the object to be painted comprising a conductive material coated by an insulator as well as earthing potential is held and the above described insulator is charged by electric charge having polarity same to a paint painted to the object to be painted to carry out electrostatic painting.
CONSTITUTION: 1 is a holder of an object to be painted comprising a conductive material, 2 is a conductive object to be painted and mounted to the holder 1 in an electrically connected manner and the holder 1 is earthed at G through a hanger 4 of a conveyor. 3 is an insulator provided to a surface of the holder of the object to be painted and charged by electric charge having polarity same to that of a paint to be painted to the object 2 to be painted prior to painting. When electrostatic paining is carried out, a charged paint particle comes flying to the object 2 to be painted and the holder 1. Because the object 2 to be painted is held to earthing potential, the charged particle is adhered to a surface thereof. The charged particle reached a surface of the holder 1 is repelled by charge of a surface of the insulator and is not adhered thereto. Further, because the holder is earthed, safe painting can be carried out.
