Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a measurement error of an anion selection electrode provided with a sensitive film, by a method wherein a specific straight chain fatty alcohol is used as a plasticizer of a high molecule support film being of a sensitive film, and a component, containing a functional material, a high molecule material, and a plasticizer are rationalized. CONSTITUTION:A functional film 4 consists of a compound containing 40-60wt% C1-16 pieces straight chain fatty alcohol, 20-30% fourth grade ammonium salt, e.g., methyltridecilammoniumchloride, acting as a functional material, and 10-40wt% high molecule compound, e.g., polychloride vinyl, serving as a support material, and is placed at a forward end of an anion selection electrode body 1. Said fatty alcohol has a low solubility in water, and has less reaction to both anion and cation in biological liquid. This improves an electrode life, reduces a polarization of an anion concentration from a theoretical value, and decrease an error. The anion concentration in the biological liquid, e.g., serum, urine, can thus be measured at high precision.
