Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the rolling surface of a ball from the work of immoderate force by equalizing distances of centers of an outer ring and an inner ring ball groove from a joint center when a torque is given for maintaining the uniform motion capacity of the inner and the outer ring.
CONSTITUTION: When an outer ring 12 is inclined against a cage 13 at α degree, an outer ball center 2 of the cage 13 is slided from an inner ball center 1 of the outer ring by a distance Δlo, and the direction is inclined against an axis 12' of the outer ring 12 at β degree. When the cage 13 is inclined against an inner ring 14 at α degree, an outer ball center 4 of an inner ring 1 is slided from an inner ball center 3 of cage by a distance Δl1, and the direction is inclined against an axis 13' of the cage 13 at γ degree. An offset amount Qop of an outer ring ball groove at the off-state of torque is made greater than an offset amount Qip of an inner ring ball groove by the addition of ΔQ1+ΔQ0. In this construction, when a torque is on, a distance Q0 from a joint center O to an outer ring ball groove center 7 is equalized with a distance Q1 from the center O to an inner ring ball groove center 8, and consequently, a plane 5 containing the ball is made to cross the center O for maintaining the uniform motion capacity of inner and outer rings.
