Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:(1-Cyclohexyl-9,10-dihydro-9-phospha-10-exaphenanthrene-9-oxide) of formula.
USE: Agent for preventing the coloring of organic compounds with heat or light. A remarkable color protecting effect can be attained by adding only a small amount (0.01W2wt%) of the agent.
PROCESS: o-Phynylphenol is made to react with cyclohexene in the presence of metallic Al to obtain 2-cyclohexyl-60phenylphenol, which is subjected to the P-C bonding reaction with phosphorus trichloride in the presence of a catalyst such as zinc dust and then hydrolyzed to obtain the objective compound.
