Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate a cis isomer of a cyclohexane ring-containing liquid crystal compound from a trans isomer of the compound by simple operations efficiently, by dissolving the cyclohexane ring-containing liquid crystal compound in a thiourea inclusion compound and utilizing properties of a compound of inclusion lattice state.
CONSTITUTION: A cyclohexane ring-containing liquid crystal compound is dissolved in a thiourea inclusion compound including a branched chain compound, alicyclic compound, or an alkyl group-containing benzene, etc., so that a cis isomer not to be clathrated and a trans isomer to become a stable crystal are formed, and they are separated to purify the titled compound.
