Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture bar-like particle boards with a desired sectional form by a method wherein a mixture of lumber chips and adhesives is fed on a heated belt conveyor and then surrounded by a deformable belt so as to be heated under pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Material B obtained by mixing lumber chips capable of passing through meshes of 2W5mm with adhesives is continuously fed via guide plates 5 on a belt conveyor A having the surface heated to 100W160°C by a number of heat rolls 2 which are disposed between driving portions 1 at both ends of the belt conveyor A. As the material B advances on the conveyor A, it is surrounded by a deformable belt D which comprises side blets D' on both sides and an upper belt D". In this state, the material B is heated up to 100W160°C under pressure of 4W20kg/cm2 and then solidified by a pressure heat roll E and a pressure heat roll E' having a sectional form of Y, both of which are disposed on the outside of the belt D. By so doing, it becomes possible to obtain bar- like particle boards of cheaper cost with no loss of the material.
