PURPOSE:To display not only sound information but also character information on a multiple sound TV receiver, by providing a function for reproducing the character information, on a tape recorder. CONSTITUTION:In each track of a magnetic tape 10, stereo music, and character and function information are recorded. Magnetic heads 11, 12 detect the stereo music and supply it to a multiple sound TV 19 through a sound signal control part 17. On the other hand, a magnetic head 13 reads out code information of the character and function information, and supplies it to an information control part 18. Subsequently, the information control part 18 converts the supplied character code to a character pattern information, and sends it out to the TV19 together with a synchronizing signal. In this way, not only stereo music is sent from a loudspeaker of the TV19 but also the title of said music or the words, etc. are displayed on the television picture.
