Abstract

PURPOSE: To correct the air fuel ratio during starting by controlling a bypass valve installed in an air channel provided in parallel to a suction air system for the engine by means of the output signal from a start opening detection means.
CONSTITUTION: A correction air channel 11 is installed so that it may communicate both up and down streams of a throttle valve 10 provided inside a main mixture channel 2. The channel 11 is provided with a bypass valve 12 which opens and closes by a pulse motor 8. A control circuit 16 receives signals from an air fuel ratio detector 7 and a temperature detector 15 installed inside an exhaust manifold 5. During normal operation, a motor 8 is driven by both the signals 7 and 15, performing feed back control to a theoretical air fuel ratio. The control circuit 16 also receives signals from a start detector 14 consisting of an AC generator and cuts the signal from the air fuel ratio detector 7 during start and controls by pass valve 12 so that the opening of the valve may be set in accordance with the signals from the start detector 14 as well as the temperature detector 15.
