Abstract

PURPOSE:To rationalize the process of printing by calibrating the maximum and minimum of the mean value of values obtained by scanning a printing plate for offset printing by a photoelectric detecting element as the quantities of reflected light at a no-picture-line part and a picture-line contact-print part. CONSTITUTION:A printing plate 20 for offset printing is scanned by a photoelectric detector 13 consisting of photosensors Sn. A printer number, etc, is inputted on a keyboard 47 to specify plate size, the number of an ink adjustment key, an interval, etc., in an RAM46 and an ROM45. The output 41 of a photosensor 13 is stored in the RAM46 by one ink adjustment key at every time through a multiplexer 42, an A/D converter 43, an input-output control circuit 49, a bus, and a CPU, and each time the sensor S0 measures a calibration mark 23 and a no-picture-line part once, the past, for example, four measured values are calculated to find the mean value, which is stored in the RAM46 to set the upper and lower limits of the quantity of reflected light, whereby printing out the result. Consequently, the influences of disturbing light and reflection are eliminated, and while measurement precision is improved, the process of printing is rationalized, preventing the production of detectives.
