Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a titled composition which prevents the degradation in strength of a mold with time by conposing the same of the specific composition contg. a phenolic-OH-contg. phenolic resin, an aromatic polyhydric isocyanate compound and an Si compound.
CONSTITUTION: This binder composition is formed of (A) a phenolic resin which is the condensate of a phenolic compound and HCHO, and has average 3W12 pieces of phenolic OH in one molecule, (B) an aromatic polyhydric isocyanate compound, and (C) an Si compound expressed by the formula I (X is C1-6 mercaptoalkyl or glycidoxyalkyl, R is C1-6 alkyl). This composition is compounded in such a manner that the isocyanate in the compound B is at 0.6W1.8equiv. ratios based on 1 equiv. of the phenolic OH in the resin A, and is added with the compound C at 0.1W 8wt% based on the total weight of A and B. When this composition is compounded with aggregate for molds and the mixture is molded into a mold, the mold is cold- cured in a short time by gaseous tertiary amine.
