PURPOSE:To ensure a highly efficient input of KANJI (chinese character) and to enhance the using efficiency of an input device of character information, by combining the voice recognizing technique that is recently put to practical use and a table that is easily obtainable. CONSTITUTION:A tablet part 10 provided with a writing pen, and signal (a) showing the writing position of the pen is supplied to a deciding part 40. A voice input part 30 recognizes an aural signal (s) meaning the name of character element which is supplied through a microphone 20 to be converted into a character element signal (b) corresponding to the type of the character type and then to be supplied to the part 40. When plural character elements are supplied, the part 40 obtains the character codes through a table and from a relation of distribution corresponding to the relation of the character element name. As a result, the character information can be supplied with high efficiency to the supplied character element.
