PURPOSE:To obtain an economical sequence controller with easy handling, by providing a display means for the function state of a timer or a counter to the sequence controller. CONSTITUTION:A sequence instruction 1a read out of a program storage part 1 is supplied to an arithmetic part 2. At the part 2, a timer counter instruction 2a is delivered to a control part 4, and a timer/counter number indicating instruction 2b is delivered to a timer/counter storage part 3 and a comparator 6. The comparator 6 transmits a coincidence signal 6a to a numerical storage part 7 when coincidence is obtained between the number designated by the instruction 2b and the set value 5a of a setter 5. Thus the present value 3a of a timer/counter given from the part 3 is stored. The part 7 sends the value 3a to a display device 8 in the form of a display data 7a, and the device 8 displays the data. In case no signal 6a is produced from the comparator 6 for a certain period of time or longer, no programming of the value 5a is decided to the instruction 1a. Then a lamp extinguishing circuit 9 transmits a lamp extinguishing signal 9a to turn off the display on the device 8.
