Abstract

PURPOSE: In a friction disc used in a wet multiple disc clutch of an automatic change gear, to prevent a buckling phenomenon effectively without a lowering of frictional performance by increasing the impregnation rate of a resin at the peripheral edge portion of a facing to higher than the other portions.
CONSTITUTION: Each facing 2 comprises a ring-shaped low impregnation portion 2a disposed near the axis of a core metal 1 and a ring-shaped high impregnation portion 2b disposed on its outside. The low and high impregnation portions 2a, 2b are formed by the steps of impregnating thermosetting resin to a sheet-like base punched to be in each fixed shape, putting it to a core metal 1 coated wit thermosetting ad hesive and heat treated. The high impregnation portion 2b contains such resin at the higher rate than the low impregnation portion 2a.
