Abstract
PURPOSE:A polypropylene composition that contains DPTBA and DPTBS and/or B- TAIC in a specific proportion, thus causing very little bleeding and showing high flame retardancy. CONSTITUTION:DPTBA[bis(2,3-dibromopropyl)ether of tetrabromobisphenol-A], DPTBS[bis(2,3-dibromoropyl) ether of tetrabromobisphenol-S]and/or B-TAIC[tris- (2,3,-dibromopropyl)isocyanurate]are added to polypropylene at a weight ratio of 7/3-1/9, preferably 6/4-4/4. The amount of the flame retarder is adjusted so that the bromine content of the composition becomes 1-30wt%, preferably 2-15wt%. The addition of each flame retarder is preferably done by premixing. Further addition of antimony trioxide results inmore increase of flame retardancy.
