Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a bonding resin having excellent heat-sealability, heat resistance, steam resistance, blocking resistance, etc., suitable as a covering material of food container, etc., and composed of a particular chlorinated carboxylated polyethylene, etc. obtained by the carboxylation and chlorination of polyethylene, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective bonding resin a prepared by compounding (A) a chlorinated carboxylated polyethylene or a chlorinated carboxylated ethylene-vinyl acetate resin obtained by (i) copolymerizing a polyethylene or an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride (e.g. acrylic acid) to obtain a carboxyl content corresponding to the acid value of 0.1W 100mgKOH/g, and (ii) chlorinating the product (to a chlorine content of 5W 50wt%), with pref. (B) 90W1wt% of a linear copolymerized polyester resin, and if necessary, (C) about ≤50wt%, based on the whole composition, of one or more resins selected from ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, etc.
