Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit stable cutting-out of stored coal and reduction of storing installation cost by pulverizing the received coal and drying the coal by incombustible gas having a specific temperature so that the content of water becomes below the set value and storing the powdered coal in the pertinent gas environment.
CONSTITUTION: In storing coal, the received coal 1 is fed into a hopper 2 and cut- out by a fixed-amount feeder 3 and pulverized to a prescribed particle diameter by a pulverizer 4 and fed into an air stream drier 6 by use of a feeder 5. The incombustible gas 8 from a heating furnace 7 is temperature-controlled to 350°C or less and blown into the lower part of the dryer 6, then the powdered coal is transferred and dried, and the content of water in the powdered coal is reduced to 6% or less. The said gas 8 and coal are supplied into a silo 10 through a conduit 9 and the coal is stored in the gaseous 8 environment. After that, the gas 8 is discharged from the top part of the silo 8 and purified in a cyclone dust collector 12 and discharged outside by a blower 18. While, the coal in the silo 8 is cut-out through a rotary valve 14.
