Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain control signals from outputs of the first phase detector, which obtains a beat output between the output of a voltage controlled oscillator and that of a sine wave oscillator, and the second phase detector which obtains a beat output between the output of a 90 deg. phase shifter and that of the voltage controlled oscillator. CONSTITUTION:When a phase difference is generated in an IF signal to change the level in the input of an automatic phase control (APC), a frequency (f) of a voltage control oscillator VCO is changed in accordance with the magnitude and the polarity of this change to generate frequency diffrence DELTAf=f-f'. This DELTAf is converged to zero approximately finally by the operation of the APC system and a frequency discriminator FD, but the speed of this operation is low sufficiently for the change of the APC input; and consequently, control signals ix+, ix-, iy+, and iy- in orthogonal phase relations having the same frequency as DELTAf and constant amplitudes are outputted during this convergence and are applied to a phase shifting part SHT of an infinite phase shifter. The first phase detector PD1 takes out a beat output corresponding to the phase difference between frequencies (f) and f', and the second phase detector PD2 takes out the phase difference between the frequency (f) and the f' shifted 90 deg. in phase.
