Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify operation and to conserve a material to enhance economy by successively passing a material sheet such as an aluminum foil or the like through various roll mechanism continuously to prepare a taper like corrugation.
CONSTITUTION: By using a pleated roll mechanism 1 provided with a roll 5 having plural rows of notched grooves with a V shaped cross area provided on a surface thereof and a roll 6 having protruded ribs engaging with said notched groove provided on an outer periphery in a combined form, to a sheet material such as an aluminum foil or the like, plural rows of pleats of which a height and a width becomes gradually smaller from one side to the other side are formed. Subsequently, pleats on a surface thereof are crushed by a flat surface roll mechanism 2 to form a flat fan shaped material (c). Further, by a corrugated roll mechanism 3 comprising a roll 10 provided with plural rows of recessed grooves with a V shaped cross area of which a depth becomes gradually deeper from a short side to a long side of the fan shaped material c and a roll 11 provided with protruded ribs engaging with said grooves, a tapered separator is continuously prepared and, thereafter, cut to desired length by a cutting mechanism 4.
