Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of a stripe pattern even if thick painting is carried out by painting a magnetic metal cut plate while magnetic force is acted on said metal cut plate to attract the same to a backup roll to enable a reverse system.
CONSTITUTION: In a backup roll 1, a magnetic force means 12 having a predetermined width is arranged so as to be positioned to a side opposed to an applicator roll 11 in a condition providing a space from a roll wall. Said magnetic means 12 transfers a magnetic metal plate 13 while said plate 13 is attracted and supported to a side of the backup roll 11 and other surface thereof is painted by a roll coater 7. Therefore, a reverse system is enabled and, even if thick painting is carried out, a stripe pattern is not developed. Further, a peripheral speed of the applicator roll 11 can be set independently of that of the backup roll 1 and adjustment of a paint thickness is facilitated.
