CONSTITUTION:When changeover switches 4, 5 are respectively in a TPS mode, a magnetic tape is run at a high speed, and a magnetic tape signal is obtained from a magnetic head 1. When the non-recorded part of the magnetic tape is detected by the head 1 in this TPS mode, an inter-music detection circuit 3 judges whether said non-recorded part is longer than the time set in the 1st non-recording signal detection circuit 6 or not, and if it is longer than the set time, said circuit feeds a driver signal to a driver transistor (TR) 9 to turn the TR9 on, thereby operates an electromagnetic solenoid 8, and performing automatic mode shifting from the TPS mode to a playback mode.
