Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent reduced magnetism owing to overcurrent of a permanent magnet by making a switching element turned ON when current flowing through a power converter exceeds a first set value and turned OFF when it exceeds the second set value. CONSTITUTION:Three-phase AC is applied to an armature winding 6-1 of a permanent magnet type motor from a DC/AC converter 5 while DC of the converter 5 is detected with a current detector section 8, the outputs VId of which are applied to comparators 10 and 11. They are compared with a set value VI1 smaller than the allowable maximum current value of a switching element TR through the comparator 10 and with a set value VI2 smaller than the allowable maximum value of current flowing through the armature winding 6-1 without reducing magnetism of a permanent magnet 6-2 and signals S21-S26 are generated to turn OFF or ON the switching element TR. This prevents the flowing of overcurrent due to the breakdown of a transistor thereby avoiding the reduced magnetism of the permanent magnet 6-2.
