Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of a particular mechanical power in an air conditioner utilizing waste heat by heating the cooling water with the waste heat through heat exchange and driving a compressor through a gas turbine with the vapor pressure of a cooling medium evaporated by the heated cooling water. CONSTITUTION:A part of the cooling water is made to flow through a heat exchanger 3 where cooling water absorbs the heat of the exhaust gas, then through an evaporator 14 where the heated cooling water heads and evaporates a refrigerant, and then returns to the cooling water pump 8. The high-pressure vapor of the refrigerant is supplied to a small gas turbine 17. The gas turbine 17 drives a blower 15 which blows the outside atmosphere and air of the cabin, and a compressor 16. After driving the gas turbine 17, the compressed vapor of the refrigerant is liquefied in a condenser 20 and is returned partly to the evaporator 26 through an expansion valve 23 and partly to the evaporator 14 through a first refrigerant pump 24. In case the evaporating capacity is insufficient relatively to the cooling load, a second refrigerant pump 25 is actuated for direct heat exchage. In the heating mode a changeover damper 32 and an outlet damper 34 are switched-over for heating function.
