Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve workability of a spring adjuster, and to provide long-lasting adjustment to a spring by protecting an adjusting part, by a method wherein a spring bearing is relatively displaced to a strut body, by a boss and a slanted guide groove. CONSTITUTION:The spring bearing 3 of a wheel suspension of strut type is provided with a cylindrical part 3a to insert a strut body, and on the internal surface of a cylindrical part 3a, a slanted guide groove 4 is formed. The groove 4 is interconnected to a boss 2, fitted to a strut body 1, and a spring can be adjusted in such a manner that the positions of a spring bearing and a strut body are relatively displaced, when a spring bearing 3 is revolved. After adjustment, the revolution of a spring bearing is stopped by a stopped screw 7. With such an arrangement, an adjusting mechanism is hard to be damaged from outside, because it is not exposed, and at the same time, the work of the adjusting part is facilitated, since any adjusting part such as a screw is not provided.
