Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a test under a condition similar to that an engine is actually in operation, by installing a mechanism which repeatedly applies a simultaneous external bending force and external twisting force to the pin section and crank-web section while the crank-shaft of the engine is supported in a cantilever mobe. CONSTITUTION:A clank-shaft 6 is fitted to a fitting tool 8 of a base 9 in a cantilever mode by fixing the fly-wheel fitting section 5 to the fitting tool 8 with bolts. In this case, the pin section 3 of the crank-shaft is brought to the lower position. A split crank-shaft cut at the section which supports the shaft of the idle gear for starter is used as the crank-shaft for testing 6. Then, a bending external force applying mechanism 10 composed to a servo-mechanism 13 whith imposes a pushing tool 12 and a single-way fluctuating load to a cutting journal 1, is instaled, and external bending force is repeatedly applied to a crank-web section 2 and the pin section 3. Moreover, external twisting force is applied to the pin section 3 by horizontally fixing an arm 14 which has the same length as the cutting journal section 1 has to the cutting journal section 1 with bolts, and fitting a load for eccentricity 15 to both ends of the arm 14 so as to rotate the load freely, and then, the driving the arm 14 by means of a motor M through a belt 17 while maintaining a phase of 180 deg..
