Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep the insulation of landside coils to the irreducible minimum by a method wherein an individual coil of a landside coil group is insulated only as demanded by the share of surge voltage it is to bear. CONSTITUTION:The landside coils LSM1-LSM4 collect power from a feeder device 5 or 6 via breakers CB1-CB4 that operate in response to the location of a vehicle 1. Surge voltage generated at the time of feeder 5 or 6 commutation or of circuit breakers CB1-CB4 rupture is fully applied on the first and following several coils of the landside coil group and, caused by the reflection of travelling surge voltage, high voltage is applied upon several coils from the ends. Landside coil manufacturing cost can be reduced by reinforcing insulation of only several landside coils from both ends of the landside coil group.
