CONSTITUTION:A vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol copolymer is prepared which contains >=5% vinyl acetate and <=8% vinyl alcohol. This copolymer is used as the binding component of the magnetic layer of a magnetic recording medium and 20-90wt% resin in terms of group is contained in the binding component to obtain the titled magnetic recording medium.
